FEAST Goes Abroad

YES, it’s true! Between the two of us, we’ll be travelling to four different countries over the next few months. While we love our rich Canadian soil, we've always been game for exploring food cultures outside our borders. And now, thanks to Viking River Cruises, World Nomads, and Intrepid Travel, we’re going international!

In May, I (Dana) will be heading to Europe to join a Viking River Cruise that travels along the Danube from Nuremberg to Budapest. I’ll stop in medieval towns, scale old city walls, sip beer made in 1,000 year-old abbeys, and much more!

Come mid-May, our Instagram feed is sure to be littered with old architecture and plenty of crumbs from all the pastries I plan to eat.

In June, Lindsay will be flying to Sri Lanka for a food writing program organized by World Nomads and Intrepid Travel. As one of three selected writers, she’ll be exploring Sri Lanka’s central “Hill Country,” where some of the world’s most famous tea and spices are grown. And she’s going to be filmed while doing it!* You can read the recipe + story that won her this trip (How to Eat Like a Goat-Herding Italian Hare Krishna) here.

Though we’re sad to be travelling apart (who will we high-five at the end of the day??), we’re oh so happy to be exploring new lands, and will bring back plenty of stories to share with you.

*Linds here. Just to answer your question, yes. I am a little nervous about the world seeing how much I sweat while eating curry.....
